Executive Producer, Articulate with Jim Cotter// November 2016- present

I stepped into the role of Executive Producer as Articulate transitioned from a local program airing in the Philadelphia region, to a multi-Emmy® award winning national show. We’re a small team, so I wear a lot of hats. The one where I develop narratives is my favorite.

Editorial Supervisor / Producer, Articulate with Jim Cotter // May 2014 – October 2016

Writing, editing, management, strategic branding, pitching/developing story ideas, etc.

I oversee the creation and editing of all editorial content (online content, broadcast scripts, promotional materials, etc.) for WHYY-TV’s arts magazine program, Articulate with Jim Cotter.  As head of the editorial team, I manage a handful of full-time, in-house staffers, plus half a dozen freelancers contributing remotely from around the country.

Back in 2014, I also had the opportunity to lend my voice to radio promos, which aired on WHYY.

Intern, CRED Philly Magazine Onsite // May 2013- August 2013

Maintain gallery space, recruit artists and curate gallery, plan and implement events, educate guests about CRED’s misison, assist in quarterly magazine assembly, schedule management

During my time working at CRED Philly’s gallery space on South Street I was responsible for planning outreach events and initiatives to engage local artists and musicians while supervising and helping to curate the gallery space. I also assisted with production of the CRED Philly magazine, researching story topics, recruiting writers and assisting in art selection.

Intern, Region’s Business // August 2012-December 2012

Business beat reporting, conducting interviews and research

I acted as a behind-the-scenes content contributor for Region’s Business, a print business and government-focused publication based in the Greater Philadelphia area and launched in 2012. I produced 10-15 short blurbs per week regarding acquisitions, management changes and Chamber of Commerce events. I earned a byline for one full-length article that can be accessed here.

Columnist, The Temple News (Temple University) // May 2011- October 2013

Bi-weekly columns, beat reporting, A&E event reporting and reviews, cultural trend analysis, interviews

Over the course of my time at The Temple News I served as a beat reporter covering both Greek life and local arts venue The Arts Garage. I also contributed regularly as a columnist, writing about cultural trends on campus as well as within Philadelphia at large. particularly concerts. Cultural Correspondent, Philadelphia Experience, Temple University // January 2010- June 2012

Attend and review cultural events in Philadelphia for web publication, promotional strategy

The Philadelphia Experience (PEX) passport is a cultural coupon book of sorts designed to encourage new students to explore Philadelphia, produced by Temple University’s General Education Department. I posted bi-weekly reviews of cultural events to the official blog to promote the PEX program to students and also make it more attractive to future contributors. I also participated in quarterly marketing meetings to plan further promotional efforts.

Columnist, M.L.T.S magazine // April 2011- December 2011

Editorial contributor, health and fitness columnist

I was responsible for managing the weekly content of the health and fitness section of the M.L.T.S. magazine blog, as well as contributing editorial content to the quarterly magazine.

Content production and editing for website, press relations, brochure design

I produced the written content for Brulée Bakery‘s website as well as early press releases. In 2013, I redesigned the company’s brochure.
